Homeless Court at the 2011 Southeastern Michigan Veterans Stand Down???

 

What is a Homeless Court?

The Southeastern Michigan Veterans Stand Down Homeless Court is designed to promote access to the court and resolution to Misdemeanor Offenses in Wayne County Only by meeting veterans at stand down and reconciling their misdemeanor offense with treatment programs and judicial oversight. This alternative sentencing is designed to assist the veteran with reintegration into society and provide a constructive alternative to fines and custody.

How does it work?

  • Participation in Homeless Court is strictly voluntary and will address Wayne County Misdemeanor cases only. Cases will be heard at the Southeastern Michigan Veterans Stand Down on October 12 & 13, 2011.
  • Only veterans discharged from military services under conditions other than dishonorable will qualify.
  • Pre-registration is required for all veterans! NO EXCEPTIONS!!

To obtain an Application to Participate in the Homeless Court at the 2011 Southeastern Michigan Veterans Stand Down please call 313.596.0252 and leave your name, phone number where you can be reached and the best time to return the call for a short pre-screening interview.

NOTICE : For program consideration your Application to Participate in Homeless Court at the 2011 Southeastern Michigan Veterans Stand Down will be released to the Department of Veterans Affairs and Michigan’s 36 th District Court to determine eligibility.
