Southeastern Michigan Veterans Stand Down, Inc. is dedicated to supporting veterans throughout Southeast Michigan, with a focus on veterans experiencing homelessness or facing difficult transitions.
Through our annual Stand Down events, community partnerships, fundraising efforts, we help connect veterans with essential services, resources, and people who are ready to support them.
Our goal is simple: give veterans a hand up, not a handout. We believe every veteran deserves dignity, respect, access to the benefits they have earned, and the opportunity to move forward with the support of their community.

Our mission is to serve veterans, members of the military, and our communities while fostering camaraderie among veterans and advocating on their behalf.
We work to ensure veterans can connect with the services, benefits, and resources available to them while creating an environment where they are treated with dignity and respect.
What We Do
The Southeastern Michigan Veterans Stand Down brings together veterans, volunteers, government agencies, nonprofit organizations, service providers, and community partners in one place.

Why “Stand Down”?
In the military, a “Stand Down” is a time when service members can step away from combat operations to rest, recover, receive supplies, and take care of essential needs.
Veterans Stand Down events carry that idea forward by creating a safe, welcoming place where veterans can access resources, receive assistance, and connect with organizations committed to supporting them.
